Individual Social Skills Therapy

While many children make great social strides in a group setting, it’s not uncommon for a child to need individual therapy to master the skills he needs to make friends and keep relationships. I sometimes recommend individual therapy if it seems the child will need some extra attention in order to reach his social goals. Individual therapy allows me to create a highly specialized plan to address your child’s specific needs, and ensure that he is receiving my full and undivided attention every step of the way. Individual sessions are fun and engaging, and are a great way to help a child boost his confidence as he masters new social concepts. Some families may choose to supplement group therapy with individual sessions to reinforce each week’s lesson, or address specific conflicts that arise outside the program. Sessions may be provided by me, or by a member of my highly experienced team of board certified speech language pathologists who specialize in pragmatic language (social skills).
